John DeRosa here. I'm speaking to parents, future parents, teachers, and catechists.
Every Christian parent wants to understand the Bible. They want the same for their children. Yet, Catholic Christians especially struggle with this.
I was raised in the Church. I received my sacraments. But I never had a good handle on Sacred Scripture. After all, the Bible is a complicated text.
73 books, written over thousands of years, by dozens of human authors (and one divine author), in a wide array of genres, in a multitude of different historical contexts, to a plurality of audiences and localities.
It's complex.
Moreover, I was in no way equipped to handle the onslaught of objections to the Catholic Christian worldview that I discovered in college and beyond.
Does the modern world see Catholic Christianity in a positive light?
Certainly not. The opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics reminded us of that.
But what should we do about it?
One option is to complain. To gripe to our family and friends who will listen. To yearn for a previous time when the Bible and Christianity were taken more seriously in the public square.
Another option is to take action. To equip ourselves and our kids with the material and strategies to avoid the snares of the world.
That's what we'll be doing in this workshop: The Bible Objection PLAYBOOK for Parents.
We're not going to sit around complaining. Nor will we stare into the distance yearning. But we will be learning. And best of all . . .
We're taking action.
Big action.
We want our kids to know and love the Bible. And if Biblical Christianity is real -- as we profess it is -- then that impacts everything.
The world wants your kids to think the Bible is silly and mostly -- if not completely -- fictitious. They'll give 'em a steady diet of implicit and explicit arguments to that effect. Perhaps, at most, they'll allow that it contain slivers of ethical wisdom.
Now, our society wants to give your kids many inoculations.
From the day they're born, you've got people coming at you with all sorts of ointments, drops, treatments, antidotes, and needles. Whatever the effectiveness of all that, we also want to give our kids a different kind of inoculation: an informed, substantive, and spiritual one.
I want to help you give them an inoculation against all major biblical challenges.
Of course, this can sound daunting. If you're like me, then growing up you weren't given the best tools to understand the Bible story.
No.
Plus, as a parent, you don't have time for that.
You need the CliffsNotes. Or the SparkNotes.
You need a framework of the key moves, tactics, strategies, and ideas that will help your kids answer the big objections to the BIBLE. This framework -- the Bible Objection PLAYBOOK -- is what I'll be teaching at the workshop.
The main objections to the Bible from the secular world are by no means insurmountable.
Many of them are shallow and superficial.
But, like a bully, they can appear relentless and overwhelming to unsuspecting kids.
I'll equip you to take them on.
Now, consider this for a moment:
Imagine a life in which your family is inoculated against all of the major Bible objections. Your kids come to you with Bible questions and you have REAL answers. Moreover, your kids are inquisitive, curious, and engaged in Scripture study in such a way that queries and objections become an invitation to fruitfully investigate Scripture more earnestly.
In that reality, you'll breathe a lot easier when questions arise.
You'll look forward to learning Scripture with your kids.
You won't fear the onslaught of objections waiting in the wings.
I can help you get there.
In just over an hour, I'll teach you the strategies, tactics, and framework you need to sharpen your responses and reactions when your kids face BIBLE objections. These ideas will also help you navigate tough topics in your own study of God's Word.
Before I give more information about the workshop, let me note one thing.
Not everyone needs this.
If your home is already a beacon of biblical study and...
If you're anywhere near that, then you probably don't need this workshop.
But I have a feeling we're not all in that boat (I know I'm not).
And if you're not, this framework will help you navigate the Bible objections your kids will face.
In the Bible Objection PLAYBOOK, you'll learn:
This isn't one of those workshops where you just sit there as I drone on and on and on. You're going to have to do some work and participate. Hence it's a workshop.
Remember, we're taking action.
All of the work and participation will serve an important end.
And you'll come away with increased confidence.

What people said about the first Bible workshop
(and this one is going to be even better)
"I actually really enjoyed the interactive group participation and the clarity of the LEARN approach."
- David from Florida
"John's presentation was well structured and throughly covered all the all the areas I was hoping to learn about when it comes to defending the Bible, understanding the Bible (it's layout, the timelines, the different books) and the ways I can bring an infectious love of scripture to my family . . . I also love that I have access to the presentation and get go back to it as a resource to further strengthen my skills in answering objections and utilizing the playbook."
- Eamonn from New Jersey
"John’s a great interviewer. He really understands how to be a good Catholic Case-maker. How to use philosophy to show God exists and how to use history to show God became man and established the Catholic Church."
"I am a philosophical theologian and find the material here [at the Classical Theism Podcast] very interesting, insightful, probing, and fun."
